fashion blab: rain is a good thing

Last night I was awoken from my slumber by what? A rolling dumpster? Items in my garage tumbling down? Luckily, it was neither and instead a welcomed and thunderous downpour. Most might think, "I should probably go shut the windows" or "I hope the dog is inside." However, my mind functions in the manner that leads me to instead ponder, "Which scarf am I going to wear to work tomorrow?" and "Does this mean I can now legally wear boots?" Considering these were questions I asked myself, you can rest assured that I responded, "Yes!" So, naturally, I have been feverishly researching cold weather clothes and accessories to add to my virtual wish lists all morning. Here are some of the favorite items I have spotted, thus far...

design blab: skulls

I wish I could say that my affinity for skulls is only in lieu of the ghoulish month that is upon us, however this is not true. No stranger to fashion, art or home decor, they can add a unique touch to any of the aforementioned. Alexander McQueen is more than familiar with a skull or more adorning their scarves and accessories which only draws me closer to their unique accessories. Though, what I really love is the edge that they add to any interior.

fashion blab: balenciaga ruffled my skirt

Nicolas Ghesquière did more than wow at the runway debut of Balenciaga's Spring 2013 RTW in Paris. With lots of leg, lots of ruffle and lots of skin... this collection was pretty stunning. I believe it to be challenging to ooze this much sexiness while still maintaining such a high level of tastefulness. Ghesquière also used the combos of knit tops and patterned skirts that added a sweet and appealing factor to the collection. Sweet and seemingly modest silhouettes with peek-a-boo tummy bra-tops enhanced with captivating patterns resulted in one lovely juxtaposition.
